Living in Portland finding a hair stylist or barber can be tough; Black folks can’t just walk into any salon and expect that people will know how to do our hair. Our hair is our crown, our hair is connected to the ancestors. The purpose of this event is to bring people from the African Diaspora to come and talk about hair, trade tips and tricks, bond over the struggles and triumphs and have a place to love our hair In a space free of anti-blackness.
