Grant Writing for Artists presented by Leila Haile

How do you get your dreams the funding they deserve? Learn to tell your story in a dynamic and engaging way! Along with the basics of creating and writing grant narratives, developing budgets & organizing supporting materials, we will also demystify the process of applying for and maintaining grants in accessible language. Together we will explore how to properly research grants, keep your materials organized, develop systems to streamline your efforts and be the change you want to see in the world!

As a Pacific Northwest resident, activist and community organizer for the past ten years, Leila Haile considers social justice work to be both their calling and their duty. They specialize in issues of race, gender, disability, class, organizational culture shift & intersectionality. With an approach to training and education rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and innovative & creative problem-solving, they work in public and private sectors for-profit and not-for-profit entities. Leila has a wide range of skills and knowledge of where “the rubber meets the road” when it comes to social justice concepts and their application to how an organization functions. As a person with a disability who is also Black, Queer and Transgender, their work is grounded in both lived experience as well as traditional education and years of community engagement work.
